New boilers

Which boiler do I need?

It depends on your home and how much hot water you use. Here are the three main types, in plain English.

Combi boiler

Heats water on demand straight from the mains, so there’s no hot-water cylinder. Often suits homes with one bathroom and limited space.

System boiler

Stores hot water in a cylinder, so several taps can run at once. Often suits homes with more than one bathroom.

Regular (heat-only) boiler

Works with a hot-water cylinder and usually tanks in the loft. Common in older homes with traditional heating systems.

Questions

Good to know.

How often should a boiler be serviced?

Most manufacturers recommend a service once a year. Check your boiler’s manual and warranty terms, as some warranties depend on regular servicing.

My boiler is showing a fault code. What should I do?

Make a note of the code and the boiler make and model, then get in touch. If you ever smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency number straight away.

Could a heat pump work in my home?

It depends on things like insulation, space for the outdoor unit and your radiators. A survey is the best way to find out.

Do you cover my area?
